The Trust Full Movie Review

There seem to be a "few" people having problems with the ending. I did not. These people, the type used in focus groups by the major studios, help screw films over, expecting "by the numbers" endings.

This ending has more of a 70's tone. I enjoyed it.

The actors did a fantastic job, I was transported into their world remarkably quickly. I didn't see "Frodo".. I didn't see "kooky" over the top Nic Cage. Just 2 quirky cops embarking on a caper.

The pace, cinematography, direction, and soundtrack helped make this a fun Sunday afternoon watch.

I hope you arrive at this film in a similar frame of mind as I did. Despite the bad reviews I gave it a chance, and am glad I did. Great performance by both leads.

Miracles From Heaven Full Movie Review

This movie is very stirring and emotionally moving. It really captures the emotions and the crisis of faith that must be the experience of those who must watch their children suffer in any way.

The directing is very good and the cinematography is well done. When I started watching the movie I expected the characters to be somewhat plastic. To my delight, this was not the case. The characters seemed real, human, and relatable.

However, it is the performance of Jennifer Garner as Christy Beam (the Mom) and Kylie Rogers as Anna Beam (the daughter) that put it over the top. 

I very much recommend this movie

Another gem of a portrayal of Iran's urban middle & lower classes from the master filmmaker behind cinematic jewels like A Separation & About Elly, Fireworks Wednesday is as effective & impressive a domestic drama as Asghar Farhadi's later features and, in my opinion, remains his underrated masterpiece that can really use a broader audience.

Featuring a gripping plot that gets better as the story progresses, tightly structured screenplay, captivating performances from its cast & tight editing, the best thing about Fireworks Wednesday is the manner in which Farhadi has interwoven the whole film in layers which keeps challenging ours as well as its characters' assumptions throughout its runtime & eventually results in an emotionally draining experience.

Covering themes of lies, deception, marriage & infidelity from the eyes of an engaged young woman who's about to step into matrimony, while also keeping its narration perfectly stable by finding a fine balance between its suspense, mystery & drama, Fireworks Wednesday is a faith- shattering cinema that's powerful enough to rank amongst world cinema's finest films and is thoroughly recommended to all film lovers.

Review : Greatly enjoyed this film. The weakest element is probably the story which is on the improbable end of the spectrum but, as long as you forgive the absurdity of the plot and just go with the flow, it's a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes. They could also possibly have done with a little more explanation of the back-story rather than jumping straight in - some might find it all a little complicated especially in the first half hour. The comedy is uniquely Glasgow and the language typically (and authentically!) blue. Visually it's all nicely shot with some of the more off-beat Glasgow landmarks featuring prominently. The acting is great with, as others have noted, standout performances by both Emma Thomson & Ray Winstone. I can't help thinking that Robert Carlyle as Director got better performances out of his other leads than he did out of Robert Carlyle (Actor) - perhaps the double responsibility of first time director and lead actor was a little too much to pull off. Not that his performance was bad, just a little lacking in finesse in places.

Minor criticisms apart, this is a very enjoyable movie and well worth watching.
